About Me
Valerie Costa is the Special Publications Editor of The Union newspaper and the administrator of her county’s tourism website, GoNevadaCounty.com. For the past year, she has been shifting her career focus from magazines and websites to books; her lifelong passion.
With 16 years of professional writing and editing experience across all forms of media and on a vast array of subjects, Valerie is ready and able to edit anything and everything on any topic imaginable. Her philosophy in editing projects is to maintain the voice of the author while making it shine as brightly as possible. Her marketing and media experience also give Valerie a clear sense of what will be most appealing to an author’s target audience, and she can help any writer shape their message in such a way to reach their desired readership. Valerie’s goal is always to make whatever she is editing the very best it can be and to ensure that her clients are ecstatically happy with the finished product.
Valerie serves on the board of directors of Sequoia ForestKeeper, which seeks to protect the giant sequoias for future generations; SPARC, a young professionals networking group in her community; and Nevada County Grown, and organization that connects local farmers, ranchers, and vintners with the community through marketing efforts. Valerie also freelances as a writer, editor, and marketing consultant. She can be reached at valerie@costacreativeservices.com
